2nd Semester --> Hardware and Software Topics in ArtsClass Syllabus for Spring 2010 The primary goal of this class is a directed final project of your choice. It should reflect both technical knowledge gained and understanding of contemporary art issues. A series of assignments, dealing primarily with fabrication, sequencing and sensor interfacing issues, should be completed before beginning to work on the final project: Rhythm MachineCreate a kinetic sculptural entity using motors and Arduino. Use at least two motors. Program a pattern of movement: change timing of when the motors are on/off, change motor speed. For more advanced students - change motor direction. Rhythm Machine + CONTROLSAdd controls to your Rhythm machine: switches to turn it on/off, pots to change speed.
